asked the Secretary of State for India whether the various military and Air Force operations in the North-West Frontier province which have taken place in the last 12 months have been financed from special grants or from the ordinary military budget?

From the ordinary military budget.

Does that mean that there will be a shortage of money to carry out the proposals under the five-years' budget plan?

Mr. BENN

No, I understand that these charges come within the limits of the contract budget.

Earl WINTERTON

Before the Debate which is to take place before Easter, will the right hon. Gentleman be good enough to obtain the figures of the actual expenditure?

Mr. BENN

I shall fortify myself with information on all those matters.
