HC Deb 18 February 1931 vol 248 c1238
40. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Transport the approximate number of holders of driving licences issued during the 12 months ended to the last convenient date, and the revenue received in respect of such licences; and how many persons have had their applications for driving licences refused through their inability to comply with the recent legislative conditions?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

The number of driving licences issued from 1st December, 1929, to 30th November, 1930, was 2,809,583, and the revenue received therefrom was £702,396. I have no information as to the number of applications for such licences which have been refused.
