HC Deb 16 February 1931 vol 248 cc849-50
10. Earl WINTERTON

asked the Secretary of State for India what is the present position in respect of the armed rising in Burma; and if the leader of the movement has yet been killed or captured?

Mr. BENN

The main outbreak has been dealt with, but there is still a considerable number of rebels in the forests who have broken up into small gangs and are being dealt with as systematically as possible. It appears to be still uncertain whether the leader Saya San is alive or dead.
