§ Sir C. TREVELYANNinety per cent. of the schools represented on the Headmasters' Conference have been inspected by the Board and recognised either for purposes of grant or as efficient. The 581 number of preparatory schools recognised by the Board as efficient is 159 boys schools, 17 girls' schools and 21 mixed schools. Eight preparatory schools which have recently applied for inspection have not yet been inspected, but will be visited shortly.
