HC Deb 12 February 1931 vol 248 c597
110. Mr. C. WILLIAMS

asked the Minister of Agricuture if he has yet purchased or arranged for the purchase of seeds for allotment holders out of the Supplementary Estimate granted on 16th December last?

Dr. ADDISON

Yes, Sir, the necessary arrangements have been made with a number of firms for the supply of seeds and fertilisers at agreed prices.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Are these seeds and fertilisers in all cases of British origin?

Dr. ADDISON

I should require notice of that question, but to the best of my knowledge they are.

Mr. R. RICHARDSON

Will the present day allotment holders have the benefit of these seeds and fertilisers?

Dr. ADDISON

I must ask for notice of that question.

Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

How much money has been actually spent?

Dr. ADDISON

I believe that orders for various things amount in all to £58,000 roughly, and repayments are already expected to the extent of £26,000.
