asked the Secretary of State for War what is the average age of the tanks in the Tank Corps; and how many tanks of the latest model are in use?

Mr. SHAW

It would not be in the public interest to give such information.

Sir N. STEWART SANDEMAN

Are we to understand that the new model is in common use in the Tank Corps and that a great many of the old tanks have been scrapped?

Mr. SHAW

I must ask the hon. Member kindly to accept the answer I have given, that it is not in the public interest to give information of this character.
