§ 43. Sir BASIL PETOasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that, in spite of the provisions of Section 1 (2) (b) of the Racecourse Betting Act of 1928, which limit the use of the totalisator to betting transactions on horse races only, totalisator betting is advertised in connection with greyhound races on greyhound racing tracks; and what steps he intends to take to enforce the observance of the law?
§ Mr. CLYNESThe questions of law involved are for the courts. One such question is, I understand, likely to be 2101 considered by the High Court. If the decision be that the use of totalisators at greyhound racing tracks is illegal, I have no doubt that steps will be taken to see that the law is enforced.
