asked the Minister of Health the number of men and women in receipt of old age pensions who find it necessary to have such pensions supplemented by assistance from the public assistance committees?

The number of persons over 65 years of age who were in receipt of poor relief on the 31st March, 1930 (the latest date for which the information is available), and also in receipt of old age pensions under the Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1924, or pensions under the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Acts, 1925 and 1929, was 109,462.
