HC Deb 04 February 1931 vol 247 cc1813-5
Mr. STANLEY BALDWIN

May I ask the Prime Minister whether he proposes to keep the House late to-night, in the event of the Motion which stands in his name on the Order Paper being carried?

The PRIME MINISTER

It is impossible to say at the moment, but I should be very glad if in the course of the day

some sort of arrangement might be come to—[An HON. MEMBER: "No!"]. I say I should be very glad if some arrangement could be come to; but we must get on with the Agricultural Land (Utilisation) Bill. If possible, we would like to conclude by the end of to-morrow's sitting.

Motion made, and Question put, That the Proceedings on the Agricultural Land (Utilisation) Bill be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Minister.] The House divided: Ayes, 244; Noes, 122.
