HC Deb 03 February 1931 vol 247 cc1624-5
50. Sir K. WOOD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the continued economic difficulties of the nation, he will now appoint a Committee to examine into the expenditure of the State Departments?

Mr. P. SNOWDEN

There will be an opportunity to make a statement on this matter in the coming Debate on the Vote of Censure put down by the right hon. Member's Leaders.

Sir K. WOOD

Has the right hon. Gentleman's opinion in any way changed since I last put this question to him?

Mr. SNOWDEN

The right hon. Gentleman will be able to answer that question himself after I have made the statement.

Sir K. WOOD

Is the right hon. Gentleman in any difficulty about this matter?

Mr. SNOWDEN

If I am in any difficulty about this matter, I certainly shall not tell the right hon. Gentleman.
