HC Deb 02 February 1931 vol 247 c1422
54. Viscount LYMINGTON

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether in view of the plague of pigeons in the country, he will try to discover some immediate concerted means of keeping the numbers of pigeons on the countryside within limits?

Dr. ADDISON

I have no information of any general plague, but local instances of depredations by pigeons have come to the notice of my Department. The only effective remedy is for landowners and farmers in any district which is affected to co-operate in reducing the numbers. I am informed that in certain areas such steps are already being taken, and there is no reason why similar action should not be taken else-where.
