Major GRAHAM POLEasked the Secretary of State for India if he will give information concerning the changes that have been effected, or are under consideration, by the Government of India in regard to the organisation of the Statistical Department of the Government of India in the light of the recommendations of the Royal Commission of Agriculture in India in favour of the establishment of provincial and central bureaux of statistics, and also of the association with the central statistical organisation of boards on which business men and economists, as well as officials, would be represented to advise on the publication of statistics and their periodical revision?
§ Mr. BENNI have no later information than that contained in the report on the progress made in giving effect to the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Agriculture in India which formed the Appendix to the Council of State Debates for 18th March, 1930.
