HC Deb 07 December 1931 vol 260 cc1518-9
65 and 66. Dr. CLAYTON

asked the Minister of Health (1) whether it is proposed to accept the recommendations of the central valuation committee that the revaluations under the 1925 Rating and Valuation Act should be carried out?

(2) whether, in view of the heavy cost estimated at £1,200,000 by the central valuation committee, to be incurred by the new valuation under the Rating and Valuation Act, 1925, he will introduce legislation to postpone the revaluation till the year 1935?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Mr. Ernest Brown)

The memorandum of the Central Valuation Committee has only been in the hands of my right hon. Friend and of local authorities for a day or two and my right hon. Friend cannot make a statement on the subject yet.
