HC Deb 07 December 1931 vol 260 c1494
15. Sir CHARLES CAYZER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can now state the amount of the indemnity which His Majesty's Minister in China has demanded from the Chinese Government for the murder of Mr. John Thorburn; and what reply, if any, has been received from the Chinese Government?

Sir J. SIMON

I fear that I am unable at present to add anything to the reply given to my hon. Friend on the 30th of November.

Sir C. CAYZER

Will the right hon. Gentleman assure the House that he will strongly press this matter and see that full satisfaction is made in this case?
