asked the Home Secretary the number of executions that have taken place since the Select Committee reported in favour of a suspension of the death penalty for a period of five years?

Sir H. SAMUEL

The number is eight.

Mr. ADAMS

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware of the public anxiety that some decision should be come to quickly on this matter?

Sir H. SAMUEL

That does not arise out of the question on the Paper.
