HC Deb 01 December 1931 vol 260 c925

asked the Prime Minister whether he can state the reasons for the non-publication of the recent Governmental inquiry into the iron and steel trades?

The LORD PRESIDENT of the COUNCIL (Mr. Baldwin)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which the Prime Minister gave on this subject to a supplementary question by my hon. Friend the Member for Hulme (Sir J. Nall) on the 17th November, arising out of the question by my hon. Friend the Member for Newport (Mr. Clarry).

Is it not the fact that one of the reasons why this report has not been published is that both masters and men have agreed as to the need for protection of the steel industry?
