HC Deb 16 April 1931 vol 251 cc328-9
Mr. ALBERY

asked the Minister of Labour if an interim report has yet been received from the Royal Commission on Unemployment Insurance?

7. Sir KINGSLEY WOOD

asked the Minister of Labour whether she has any information as to when an interim report by the Royal Commission on Unemployment Insurance will be available?

Miss BONDFIELD

As I stated in the Debate on 16th February, we have specially asked the Commission to give us an interim report by the end of May. While it is not possible to give any undertaking, I have no reason to suppose that the Commission will not be able to work to this date.

Sir ASSHETON POWNALL

Does the Minister expect to get this report at the end of May and then to carry through legislation with regard to borrowing powers?

Mr. SMITHERS

Is it the policy of the Government to put this fund on an actuarial basis?
