§ Mr. STANLEY BALDWINMay I ask the Prime Minister what the business will be next week?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe debate on the Address will be continued on Monday, when the Opposition Amendment on the Paper will be taken, and it is hoped that the debate will be brought to a conclusion on Tuesday night.
Wednesday will be devoted to Private Members' Motions.
Thursday, Second Reading of the Education (School Attendance) Bill.
Friday will be the first day for Private Members Bills. On any day, should time permit, other Orders may be taken.
§ Mr. BALDWINI suppose from what the Prime Minister has said, it is understood that we have two days for the official Opposition Amendment.
§ The PRIME MINISTERI understand that to be so. I have been watching the Order Paper for indications that might militate against that, hut I have not seen them. I hope that on Tuesday night we shall finish with the Opposition Amendment, and that the debate will end.
§ Mr. MAXTONMay I ask the Prime Minister if that means that there will be no opportunity for any Amendment other than that of the official Opposition?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThere are no Amendments on the Paper of any substance, and in the course of the general debate a number of miscellaneous subjects can very adequately be raised.
§ Mr. MAXTONWill there be no opportunity for any Amendment other than the official Opposition Amendment?
§ The PRIME MINISTERNo; I wish the debate to end, if the House of Commons agrees, on Tuesday next.
§ Mr. LAMBERTCan the right hon. Gentleman say when he proposes to introduce the agricultural legislation?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThat will be announced in due course—probably next week, but I cannot say now.
