HC Deb 27 November 1930 vol 245 c1497
68. Commander SOUTHBY

asked the Minister of Health whether he has given consideration to proposals so to amend the Rent Restrictions Act as to prevent various abuses in connection with sub-letting, and particularly prohibiting tenants sub-letting at rents not exceeding three quarters of the rent such tenant pays; and what action he is taking in the matter?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I would remind the hon. and gallant Member of the recent appointment by myself and my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Scotland, of an Inter-Departmental Committee to inquire into and report upon the present working of the Rent Restrictions Acts and whether any modification or amendments should be made to them.
