§ 69. Mr. HOPKINasked the Minister of Health the number of applications received by the Carmarthenshire County Council for grants under the Housing (Rural Workers) Act, 1926; the number of successful applications; the amount of money granted under this Act; and if he is satisfied with the results of the working of this Act in the county of Carmarthen?
§ Mr. GREENWOODApplications have been made in respect of 83 dwellings, and assistance amounting to £2,084 has been promised in respect of 22. These results are not very great, but I have at present no reason to suppose that the Council are not endeavouring to make a proper use of their powers under the Act.
§ Mr. HOPKINIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that 90 per cent. of the applicants in Scotland were successful?
