§ 81. Sir HERBERT NIELDasked the Minister of Labour whether she is aware that J. H. Edwards, of Ealing, has been deprived by a court of referees sitting at Acton of the unemployment benefit on the ground of misconduct after dismissal by his employers for non-attendance on one day, such absence being due to the lad having been warned for duty with the St. John's Ambulance Brigade, of which he was a member, on the occasion of the public funeral of the victims of the R 101 disaster; and whether she will cause inquiries to be made into the matter for the purpose of insuring the review of this decision?
§ Mr. LAWSONThe question raised by the right hon. and learned Member is one for the Insurance Officer, who, I am informed, has already lodged an appeal with the Umpire on certain points.
