asked the Prime Minister whether the Solicitor-General is receiving the usual remuneration and performing the usual duties of his office pending his election to membership of this House?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes, Sir.

If the Solicitor-General is in receipt of the same salary, whether he is a. member of this House or not, are we to understand that any services that he could render to the House are of no value at all?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Solicitor-General is rendering great services to the House outside the House.
