HC Deb 17 November 1930 vol 245 c24
96. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action is being taken by the Government to stem the continuous decline in the activities of the iron and steel industry?

Mr. W. R. SMITH

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made in debate on the 5th November.

Captain CROOKSHANK

But after the debate did not the House pass a unanimous Resolution that the Government should take immediate steps in the matter? What have they done as a result of that decision?

Mr. SMITH

The Government are continuing on the lines referred to in the answer.
