HC Deb 17 November 1930 vol 245 cc26-7
57. Mr. ALBERY

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is proposed to introduce a Bill to amend the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926?

Dr. ADDISON

No, Sir, and I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Faversham (Mr. A. Maitland) on 3rd November, a copy of which I am sending to him.

Mr. ALBERY

Have representations been made to the right hon. Gentleman that this Act fails in practice to give the local authorities control over the sale of adulterated fertilisers and feeding stuffs?

Dr. ADDISON

I have received representations from, I think, one county council, but the almost unanimous opinion of the Departmental committee was against the suggestion.
