HC Deb 03 November 1930 vol 244 c463
39. Mr. LLEWELLYN-JONES

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he can give the reason why the claim for a War pension made by Henry Roberts, N.D. 48,635, late lance-corporal, Royal Army Medical Corps, has been disallowed; whether due regard was given to the fact that the man submitted documentary evidence that he was treated for gas poisoning while on War service in France, and that the tuberculosis medical officer for the district has stated that his present condition is the result of such War service; whether his decision has been given after a recent examination by the medical officers of the Ministry; and he can see his way to take steps to have him again examined by a medical board, with a view to reconsidering the claim?

Mr. ROBERTS

This case has been very fully considered in consultation with my principal medical advisers, with full regard to all the evidence and statements submitted up to now in support of the application. I am advised, however, that the facts of the case do not establish Mr. Roberts' claim that his present condition is the result of his War service. I am communicating with the hon. Member as to the facts of this case.
