Mr. OLDFIELDasked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the action of the Orsett Rural District Council in offering for sale houses which the council has hitherto leased; whether any tenants have yet offered to purchase their houses; whether any tenants not in a position to buy have yet been displaced by the sale of the house to other persons; and whether there are any such cases now under consideration?
§ Miss LAWRENCEMy right hon. Friend understands that a scheme for the sale of council houses has been under consideration by the Orsett Rural District Council. He has at present no information on the points raised in the later parts of the question but he is assured by the council that they have no intention of displacing any of their tenants.
