HC Deb 19 May 1930 vol 239 cc30-1
65. Mr. A. M. SAMUEL

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the Commissioners of Crown Lands will consult with the appropriate local authorities as to a scheme for the widening of Jermyn Street before any arrangements are made by the Commissioners for reletting the site now occupied by the Geological Museum, when that site reverts to the Commissioners on the completion of the removal of the Museum to buildings elsewhere?

Mr. N. BUXTON

The question of the widening of Jermyn Street is primarily one for the local authorities concerned, and the Commissioners of Crown Lands will be prepared to consider any scheme which may be put forward by those authorities.

Mr. SAMUEL

Will the right hon. Gentleman bring to the notice of the proper authorities warning that this matter must be provided for well in advance?

Mr. BUXTON

It is primarily the business of the local authorities.
