HC Deb 19 May 1930 vol 239 c32
68. Mr. FREEMAN

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether he will consider the desirability of providing a suitable supply of flowers, where convenient, in some of the rooms of the House of Commons, such as the Library, Dining, Writing, Reading and Committee Rooms?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Mr. Lansbury)

I sympathise with my hon. Friend's suggestion for a brighter House of Commons, especially in regard to the Dining Room, and I will consult the Kitchen Committee and other authorities.

Mr. C. WILLIAMS

If the right hon. Gentleman does anything, will he see that British-grown flowers are used?

Lieut.-Colonel Sir G. DALRYMPLE-WHITE

Does the right hon. Gentleman not think that there are enough bouquets in the House already?
