(2) the number of appointments she has made of chairmen of Courts of Referees since the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1930, came into operation; and how many of them are members of the legal profession?

Miss BONDFIELD

106 new Courts of Referees are being established, and in addition the Metropolitan Court, which was formerly one Court with a panel of chairmen, is now divided into 45 separate Courts. The chairman necessary for the new Courts are in process of selection. Up to the present two new chairmen have been appointed, one of whom is a member of the legal profession.
