HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1438
30. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has had any communications from the British Minister in China giving particulars of the interview between the Chinese Foreign Minister and himself with regard to the attitude taken up by foreign ratepayers to the municipal council's resolution increasing the number of Chinese council seats; and can he give particulars?

Mr. DALTON

I have received reports from His Majesty's Minister showing that the subject was referred to in conversation between him and the Minister for Foreign Affairs. My hon. Friend will, however, have seen from Press reports that the question has now been satisfactorily settled, and I take it that he will not, therefore, wish me to enter into further details.
