SOMERVILLEasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the agreement with respect to the utilisation of the Boxer indemnity surplus has now been initialed by the Chinese and the British Governments; and whether he proposes to introduce legislation this Session to give effect to it?
Mr. A. HENDERSONA draft agreement was initialed by His Majesty's Minister at Peking and the Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs on 19th February. The text of the draft is now under consideration. I cannot yet say whether legislation on this subject will be introduced this Session.
