HC Deb 26 March 1930 vol 237 cc401-2
20. Mr. HORE-BELISHA

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he can make any statement as to the Admiralty's intention regarding the Naval College at Dartmouth?

Mr. ALEXANDER

I assume that the hon. Member's question is prompted by recent reports in the Press that the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth is likely to be closed. Such reports are without foundation.

Commander SOUTHBY

Will the right hon. Gentleman assure the House that, before any decision to close this old established naval academy is taken, the House will have an opportunity of discussing the matter?

Mr. SPEAKER

The Minister has said that he is not going to close it.
