HC Deb 20 March 1930 vol 236 cc2098-9
92. Mr. WILFRID WHITELEY

asked the Minister of Health whether he can state the number of epidemics of infectious disease in England and Wales during the last three years which have been attributed to milk; what was the nature of the epidemics; and the annual number of cases and of deaths due to the epidemics?

Mr. GREENWOOD

Complete particulars of the number of epidemics of infectious disease attributed to milk are not available, but my hon. Friend will find such information as is available in the Reports of the Chief Medical Officer of my Department for the years in question. The total numbers of notified cases of certain infectious diseases and the numbers of deaths from these diseases are contained in the periodical returns of the Registrar-General, but there are no separate figures of the cases in which the disease was attributed to milk.
