Captain CAZALET (for Sir NICHOLAS GRATTAN-DOYLE)asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he proposes to make any representations with reference to the proposal of the Government of Australia to impose a Super-tax on imports into that Dominion, with a view to obtaining relief from its operation in respect of British imports?
§ Mr. GILLETTI have no information of any specific proposals of this kind having yet been made by His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia. If and when such proposals are put forward, I will consider in consultation with the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs what representations, if any, can usefully be made.
