HC Deb 13 March 1930 vol 236 c1472
35. Sir NICHOLAS GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Home Secretary whether changes in the code of prison rules are contemplated, including that which requires a prisoner sentenced to hard labour to be employed in solitary confinement during the first 14 days of his sentence?

Mr. CLYNES

I would refer the hon. Member to the answers which I gave to him on 27th February last and to the hon. Member for Devonport (Mr. Hore-Belisha) on the 4th February last. The effect of the replies then given is to answer both parts of the present question in the affirmative.
