HC Deb 13 March 1930 vol 236 cc1462-3
15. Mr. GRAHAM WHITE

asked the Minister of Labour whether when authorising the construction of Employment Exchanges, she will give full consideration to the opinions of local employment committees in regard to the provision of adequate sanitary conveniences and covered waiting accommodation?

Miss BONDFIELD

I am always anxious to give the fullest consideration to opinions expressed by local employment committees. As regards the provision of sanitary conveniences, however, I would refer to the reply given to the hon. Member for Birkenhead West (Mr. Egan) on 27th February, in which I pointed out that this is a matter for the local authority. The desirability of outside shelters is under consideration.
