asked the Secretary of State for War the total number of new married quarters for troops commenced during the period from the 5th of April, 1925, and ending on the 5th of April, 1929; and the total number which have been commenced since the present Government has been in office?

During the period, 5th April, 1925, to 5th April, 1929, 239 new married quarters were commenced for officers and 737 for other ranks. These numbers include a large number of quarters built at Catterick. Since April, 1929, the corresponding figures are officers' quarters 21 and quarters for other ranks 111
