HC Deb 18 June 1930 vol 240 c382
23. Major the Marquess of TITCHFIELD

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what proportion of the foodstuffs supplied to the Royal Navy is Empire grown?

Mr. ALEXANDER

While it is not practicable to give an exact proportion, the Noble and gallant Lord can rest assured that as a rule the foodstuffs consumed in His Majesty's Navy are of Empire origin, so far as they are obtainable at a satisfactory price and of suitable quality.

37. Marquess of TITCHFIELD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he will state what proportion of the foodstuffs supplied to the Royal Air Force is Empire grown?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for AIR (Mr. Montague)

The reply given yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for War to the similar question addressed to him covered the Royal Air Force as well as the Army.
