§ Mr. SHAWI can assure the hon. and gallant Member that this method of recruiting has not been overlooked by the military authorities, but experience has shown that the direct results obtained are small: and the interference with training and the cost involved by these marches render unjustifiable their adoption frequently or on a large scale.
