HC Deb 03 June 1930 vol 239 cc1963-4
62. Major COLFOX

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is intended to grant a National Mark for cider; and whether the use of this mark will be limited to cider produced only from apples grown in this country?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of AGRICULTURE (Dr. Addison)

The Ministry has now under discussion with the National Farmers' Union and with the National Association of Cider Makers a scheme for establishing, in association with the National Mark, grades of quality for cider made in England and Wales. It is proposed to limit the scope of the scheme to cider produced from fruit grown in England and Wales.
