HC Deb 02 June 1930 vol 239 c1748
14. Sir KINGSLEY WOOD

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has any information whether the decree forbidding the teaching of religion to children in Soviet Russia is still in force; and whether any other decrees relating to religion in Soviet Russia have been modified or annulled?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Arthur Henderson)

So far as I am aware, there has been no recent change in any of the decrees referred to by the right hon. Gentleman.

Sir K. WOOD

Does the right hon. Gentleman still persist in his refusal to make representations against this and other methods of religious persecution?

Mr. KIRKWOOD

On a point of Order. Would it be allowed to anyone on this side of the House to ask if a Minister still persisted?
