§ Mr. BENNThe casualties reported as the result of the disturbances in Bombay City on the night of 27th May and the morning of the 28th are four persons killed and 56 injured. Since mid-day on the 28th all has been quiet, and so far as I know conditions are now normal.
§ 11. Sir A. KNOXasked the Secretary of State for India how many British men and women have been injured in riots in India during the past month?
§ Mr. BENNIn order to furnish the hon. and gallant Member with a complete answer, I have addressed an inquiry to the Government of India. I will communicate with him when I receive their reply.
§ Mr. BROCKWAYWill the right hon. Gentleman also ask for the figures of Indian casualties?
