HC Deb 02 June 1930 vol 239 c1769
64. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Minister of Labour if she can give any estimate of how many additional persons are drawing unemployment benefit as a result of the abolition of the genuinely seeking work qualification in the recent Unemployment Insurance Act?

Miss BONDFIELD

I regret that separate figures are not available from which an estimate can be made of the number of persons who have obtained unemployment benefit as the result of the abolition of the condition requiring that applicants must be "genuinely seeking work."
