HC Deb 31 July 1930 vol 242 c691
38. Viscount ELMLEY

asked the Minister of Health if he will promote legislation to ensure the rating of all sporting rights, however held or occupied?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I am advised that all sporting rights which are severed from the occupation of the land are rateable, and, while I sympathise with the object which the Noble Viscount has in view, I cannot undertake to introduce legislation to deal solely with the case of rights which are not severed.
