asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state on what terms the licence was granted for a lease of Thomson Island to the firm of Johan Rasmussen and Company?

A full statement on this matter was made at the time when the arrangements referred to in the question were completed, and I am sending the hon. Member a copy which will, I trust, give him the information which he desires.

Has any option been given to this company to continue their tenancy after 10 years?

No, not so far as I am aware.
