HC Deb 29 July 1930 vol 242 c253
4. Mr. CHARLES BUXTON

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether any appointment has yet been made to the office of High Commissioner for Bechuanaland, Basutoland, and Swaziland; and, if not, when such appointment will be made?

Mr. THOMAS

The appointment of High Commissioner for South Africa is at present held by the Earl of Athlone in conjunction with that of Governor-General of the Union of South Africa. The arrangements to be made when Lord Athlone's term of office comes to an end are under consideration.
