§ 9. Mr. W. J. BROWNasked the Secretary of State for India whether the attention of the Government of India has been drawn by any of the news agencies or newspapers in India to the losses suffered by them owing to the promulgation of the Press ordinance; and if the Government of India have under consideration the question of making any compensation to a news agency or newspaper in India in view of losses so incurred?
§ Mr. BENNNo compensation is contemplated on account of the voluntary cessation of publication by newspapers whether as a protest against the Press ordinance or on failure to deposit security.
