Mr. PALMER (for Mr. MILLS)asked the First Commissioner of Works if he is aware that Government documentary ledgers containing the names, addresses, and length of residence of each tenant residing on the temporary hutments built during 1916–1918 by His Majesty's Office of Works are now being used by the individuals who bought this property in 1928 as evidence in the County Court of Dartford against tenants in order to raise rents; and what steps he proposes to take to recover these Government documents or whether they were handed over without any agreement or protection of tenants at the then existing rents?
§ Mr. LANSBURYI am not aware that the purchasers are holding any official documentary ledgers which should be in the possession of my Department. The property was sold subject to the rights of the tenants.
