HC Deb 21 July 1930 vol 241 cc1722-3
15. Mr. MARLEY

asked the Secretary of State for India what are the numbers of prisoners convicted of political offences of a non-violent character at present, respectively, in Classes A, B and C of Indian gaols?

Mr. BENN

I do not receive information in the form asked for in this question, but I will, if my hon. Friend desires it, ask the Government of India for such particulars as are available to provide an answer to his question.

Mr. MARDY JONES

Will the right hon. Gentleman state whether it is proposed to declare a general amnesty for all such prisoners prior to the Roundtable Conference?

Mr. BENN

That is a totally different question.
