asked the Secretary of State for India whether he has any statistics and can state the number of British European women who are at present in residence at Peshawar?

I have ascertained that the number is about 45.

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether special provisions have been made to safeguard these people?

I do not think that there is any cause for alarm.
